In the Bengali dialect, "Bede" implies a rank or gathering of individuals who influence their living by getting snakes and engaging individuals by making the snakes to move to the tune of there woodwinds. Joytsna (Anju Ghose) is a young lady from this network. One day a noxious snake chomps the foot of a nearby ruler (Ilias Kanchan). A bede is called to fix the sovereign. He sees the injury and pronounces that no one but Jyotsna can separate the toxin from the sovereign's blood. The ruler considers Jyotsna and requests that her spare his child, in return for which he consents to give her anything she needs. Jyotsna fixes the ruler however turns out to be sick all the while. After her mom and the ruler appeal to God for her, she recoups and requests the hand of the sovereign as her reward, yet the lord recoils. At the point when the sovereign, now recuperated, comes to know about everything that has happened, he becomes hopelessly enamored with Jyotsna. After a long pull of-war, the couple influence the lord to agree to their association and they wed.
This story was taken from an extremely old provincial Bengali play of a similar name. The tune of the title tune, "Beder meye Jyotsna amay katha diyeche," was received from the tune "Ek pardesi mera dil le gaya" from the film Phagun
